Seattle Parks and Recreation is busy developing a financial plan to further our vision of HEALTHY PEOPLE, HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT and STRONG COMMUNITIES which includes building up community, sustaining parks, and bringing affordable and supportive recreation opportunities across our city.
In 2014, Seattle voters approved the Seattle Park District that provides Seattle Parks and Recreation with just over $50 million each year (about 20% of our overall budget) to support recreation programs, ongoing park and facility maintenance, and the development of new parks and programs.
